Sewing Projects

I have been really excited that I have had a little time for sewing since my baby boy has started taking NAPS!!! Andrew still isn't perfect at them but he has definitely improved. :-)

Also, on Wednesday nights, the church offers childcare for choir members and we have started taking advantage of this! Mommy just needs a little time to herself :-)

Electricity... or not

Another funny story...

When Andrew was a newborn, we lost power. We realized with a newborn we needed to buy lanterns and flashlights... candles were not going to cut it.  So the next day, we ordered these items so we could be prepared!

Recently, I took these items up to school for camping week. My students and I discovered that they didn't have batteries. I told James we need to get batteries so we could be prepared.

This past week, we lost electricity. James and I looked at each other. I had not put back the camping gear but I assured him I could find it in the garage... Which I did. I asked James to find C batteries. We looked where we keep batteries but there wasn't any. We racked our brains trying to think what could take c batteries. I asked James to look in the new swing we bought. He took the batteries off in the dark... nope,
D batteries. At this point we both were frustrated. So much for being prepared!

I told James that I would buy batteries the next day.... which I did. I even bought an extra set. James went to put them in and discovered the lanterns took D batteries!!! We had batteries in the swing the whole time.  Needless to say, I was back at Walmart the next day (we were still having a ton of rain!) Here are the now infamous lanterns. :-) Now we are prepared!

10 Cent Pajamas

When I first had Andrew, Shelly and I would go hunting for good deals at garage sales. At one, a lady was selling all baby clothes for 10 cents. I bought a ton of jammies! Well, we outgrew our 3-6 PJs, so I pulled out the next size up, thinking they were part of the 10 cent batch. When we put him in this pair, look what was sticking out...

We died laughing! I thought it was so humorous about the 10 cent jammies that I texted the pic to Shelly. It gets even funnier... It turns out his big cousin made the holes from CRAWLING. The PJs used to be Ethan's. Our little guy is barely SITTING! Maybe one day mommy will sew them... or maybe not! Those are some cute little toesies!

This Weekend

This weekend was pretty low key. We spent most of our time outside working on our lawn. We never realized how much yard and flowerbeds we have! Andrew was a trooper and watched us weed and put down new bark mulch.

He even helped mommy mow the yard! He wasn't the most thrilled, but he tolerated it. Then he went in and took a good nap. Talk about a neck workout!

TV Junkie

This little one loves his TV. Don't worry though... I don't keep him there all day :-) It is nice to be able to put on a "Baby show",  as Hannah calls it, and be able to run and do a chore. He is naked again... because honestly he prefers it that way. It works for now :-)

Happenings at Gigi

From Andrew:

Gigi kept me and I had a blast! I was spoiled with hugs and cuddles. I had so much fun playing in my jumperoo.

We played a trick on mommy! I pretended to get my haircut and Gigi took a picture.

I drank new things. (or at least I enjoyed the coldness of the bottle!)

I helped Gigi cook.

I was so exhausted after my time there. :-)

Thank you, Gigi and Pawpaw, for taking such good care of me! I had so much fun and can't wait for mommy and daddy to go on another date, so I can come back. I love y'all bunches!
